This 9-day Greek adventure isn’t just about visiting ancient ruins or lounging on beaches—it’s about living Greece like a local. At LocalXperience, we believe the best way to experience a place is to dive deep into its culture, traditions, and way of life.
We start in Athens, where modern life and ancient history blend seamlessly. After exploring the city’s iconic landmarks, we’ll step off the beaten path—tasting the best souvlaki, sipping coffee in hidden cafés, and discovering local markets bursting with Mediterranean flavors.
Then, we leave the city behind and set sail for Ikaria—one of the world’s five Blue Zones, where people live longer and happier lives. Here, time slows down. We’ll meet a 100-year-old Ikarian who will share the secrets of longevity, join a Panagiri festival, dance with the locals, and hike through the island’s mystical mountains. And for those who want to catch a wave—yes, Ikaria has a secret surf spot waiting for you!
Our final stop is Samos, an island of dramatic cliffs, hidden villages, and untamed nature. We’ll explore the birthplace of Pythagoras, snorkel in crystal-clear waters, and hike to a hidden monastery perched high in the mountains.
Every step of this journey is filled with unexpected encounters, local flavors, and unforgettable moments. Whether it’s sharing wine with locals in a tiny mountain village or watching the sunset from a secret spot, this adventure will change the way you see Greece.

Day 1 – Arrival in Athens | Welcome to Greece
→ Private transfer from Athens International Airport to our accommodation in the city center.
→ Take the first day to settle in and explore at your own pace.
→ Welcome dinner in a traditional taverna, indulging in local flavors and toasting to the journey ahead.

Day 2 – Athens like a Local | History, Street Food & Hidden Spots
→ Guided walking tour exploring the Acropolis and the city’s hidden gems: A tiny café where locals linger over Greek coffee. The best souvlaki stall in town—an absolute must-try. A century-old spice shop bursting with Mediterranean aromas.
→ Afternoon: Free time to explore Psiri, Piraeus, or join an optional sunset hike to Mount Lycabettus.

Day 4 – The Secrets of Longevity | Meeting A 100-Year-Old Ikarian

→ Visit mountain villages where life moves at a different pace.
→ Meet a centenarian and learn their secrets to a long, joyful life: A diet of wild greens and homegrown wine. A stress-free approach to time. A belief in movement, music, and community.

DAY 5 – Beach, Surf & The Ikarian Way of Life
→ Relax at Armenistis Beach or try surfing in one of Greece’s most unexpected surf spots.
→ Sip Greek coffee at a beachfront café, watching the world go by, Ikaria-style.
→ Explore hidden villages, meet locals, and experience their timeless way of living.
→ Evening: A special dinner deep in the mountains, where home-cooked dishes, local wine, and endless stories make for an unforgettable night.

Day 6 – Ferry to Samos | The Untamed Island
→ Short ferry ride to Samos (approx. 1H10).

Day 7 The Sacred Mountain | Hiking to the Mystical Monastery
→ We start with an early breakfast in Limnionas, followed by a scenic hike to Krekis peak for stunning island views.
→ After the hike, enjoy free time to relax, swim, or unwind back in Limnionas.
→ In the evening, we head to Kampos for a traditional dinner and an optional night out.
→ We return to Limnionas to rest before our final full day.

Day 8 – Waterfalls, Wilderness & Sunset Wonders
→ After breakfast in Limnionas, we head to Potami Waterfalls, a hidden gem of Samos.
→ Optional: hike through the refreshing waterfall surrounded by lush greenery.
→ Enjoy a local lunch nearby, then return to Limnionas to relax or swim.
→ In the afternoon, we ride scooters or quads (solo or duo) to the mountain village of Drakei.
→ There, we’ll have a traditional dinner with stunning sunset views.
→ After dinner, we return to Limnionas for a peaceful night.
